The SD Vidya School celebrated Guru Purnima with great reverence and enthusiasm, honoring the eternal role of the Guru — the one who dispels darkness and leads us toward light and wisdom.
The special assembly began with a soulful Shloka recitation, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere. Students chanted ancient verses in praise of gurus, reflecting the deep-rooted traditions of our culture.
This was followed by peer-point presentations by students, creatively titled “Guru: The Timeless Guide – From Ashrams to Apps”. These presentations beautifully highlighted how the role of the guru has evolved over time — from ancient rishis imparting knowledge under trees to modern-day mentors and digital educators guiding us through screens.
A captivating role play based on a story from the life of Gautam Buddha was also presented, bringing to life the values of wisdom, humility, and compassion that every true teacher embodies.
The entire celebration was a heartfelt tribute to all forms of mentorship — traditional or modern — reminding us that a guru can take many forms but their purpose remains the same: to guide, inspire, and uplift.
Through this meaningful celebration, our students were encouraged to value the guidance they receive and to walk the path of knowledge with gratitude and humility.
